Guizhou Travel Guide

Guizhou Province boasts abundant natural resources and diverse ethnic cultures. It is one of the birthplaces of ancient Chinese people, with a long history and profound cultural heritage. With an average summer temperature of 23°C, about three-quarters of Guizhou's territory enjoys climate conditions suitable for summer tourism, making it a treasure trove for summer vacation and retreat. Guizhou features vast karst landforms, and people have utilized the karst peak-cluster depressions to install the large astronomical facility, "China's Eye of Heaven." In the southeast of Guizhou, due to the mountainous terrain, people often adopt semi-dry-column architecture, with the bottom of the stilted buildings half suspended and half placed on the hillsides, which can prevent moisture and save limited land space, perfectly adapting to the rugged mountains. The gentle hilltops and near-water slopes have also been reclaimed as fertile farmland. The Miao, Buyei, and Dong ethnic groups have developed the Jiabang Terraces, which stretch for more than 20 kilometers with a drop of 1,000 meters, on gentle slopes.
